Schedule an appointment or drop off your career search tools to have them evaluated.

Please keep in mind that as a graduate student seeking an academic job, you will need a Curriculum Vitae. If you are seeking a non-academic job, than you are probably best served by the resume information. It is also wise to consult your academic department for additional advice and/or resources.

Interview Preparation

Prepare for the real thing by scheduling a simulated experience. Gain constructive feedback to use in your next interview. Use our online Interview Tutorial (PDF).

Researching Employers

For non academic jobs and/or some consulting/think tank firm leads, click here to find out about the resources you can utilize to learn more about employers that match your skills and interests. For academic oriented positions, don't forget about using professional associations and/or trade organizations. Professors in your department may also have some suggestions. Additional online resources which are useful in seeking employment can be accessed by clicking on the "Web Resources" link in the "Tools and Resources" box in the top right corner of this page.  Also note that many of the job listings have an undergraduate, entry-level focus. Remember that academic departments, especially at the graduate level, receive more experienced postings from time-to-time.

Career Services Library.

The Career Services Library is accessible between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Browse through the book, company, job and other career resources.

Alumni Networking

Make an appointment with an adviser in Career Services to find out about alumni who have offered to assist current Clarkies.  Contact your department as well for information on alumni from your particular program.

If you are a fifth year student, you already have access to the Alumni Online Community.
