This event, which will take place on the evening of the second scheduled presidential debate between Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, will examine what the candidates are saying and what they are not saying about this critical issue. A panel of Clark faculty will engage the audience in dialogue about the politics of climate change. Then we will watch the debate together on a big-screen television. Refreshments will be served. Alexanian's focus on Morris' work spans a number of films including Fast, Cheap and Out of Control, Mr. Death, the First Person series, and Morriss current film, Standard Operating Procedure. Nubar Alexanian is a Fulbright Fellow documentary photographer who has worked in more than 30 countries over the last 25 years focusing on long term personal projects. His work has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, Life, National Geographic, and The London Sunday Times, as well as in his five published books. His work is exhibited and collected internationally. Dean Aleinkoff will also give a lecture on Immigration Law at 7:30 pm in Daniels Theater, Atwood Hall. Dean Aleinkoff's Bio: Professor Aleinikoff joined the law faculty at Georgetown after having served as the Executive Associate Commissioner for Programs in the U.S. Department of Justices Immigration and Naturalization Service and as General Counsel in the Immigration and Naturalization Service. He has been on the faculty at the University of Michigan Law School. After receiving his law degree, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Edward Weinfeld, U.S. District Judge. He has published numerous articles in the areas of immigration refugee and citizenship law and policy, constitutional law, statutory interpretation and race discrimination. His most recent books include Semblances of Sovereignty: The Constitution, the State, and American Citizenship; Citizenship Policies for An Age of Migration (with Douglas Klusmeyer); Immigration: Process and Policy (with David Martin, Hiroshi Motomura, and Maryellen Fullerton); and Modern Constitutional Theory: A Reader (with John Garvey and Daniel Farber).
