Welcome
Psychology > psyche (breath, spirit, soul)
At Clark's nationally-known School of Psychology, faculty, graduate students and undergraduates search together for insight into questions that have fascinated people since the beginning of time. Why do we behave the way we do? How did this behavior evolve? What is the relationship between emotion and thought? How can we get along better with each other and live more satisfying lives?

(A message from David Angel, Provost) We are sorry to report that Bernie Kaplan, who was a faculty member in the Hiatt School of Psychology, passed away December 2nd. Professor Kaplan was appointed lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Clark University in 1953 and was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in 1964. Although he retired in 1998, Professor Kaplan had kept in touch with many colleagues and prior students since that time. After following Heinz Werner to Clark, Bernie Kaplan received both his master’s and doctor’s degrees in psychology here. His intellectual interests spread across many areas, and he held adjunct appointments in Philosophy, Comparative Literature, and English. There will be no public funeral; but Clark is planning a memorial service early next year at a time to be arranged with his family.
