Applying to the Ph.D. Program
Application forms for admission to graduate study may be requested by standard mail, e-mail (Chemistry@clarku.edu), or accessed online (PDF).
Applicants must provide the following:
- Completed Application Form
- Statement of Purpose.
- Official transcripts from all prior post-secondary schools attended.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- GRE scores sent directly from ETS (school code: 3279; dept. code: 0301). Please note that the subject area exam is not required, but is recommended.
- TOEFL score (for non-native English speakers) sent directly from ETS
(school code: 3279; dept. code: 62). Acceptable score requirements are
as follows:
iBT (Internet-based Test) – Minimum: Reading 15; Speaking 16; Listening 14; Writing 17; with a total score of at least 75.
PBT (Paper-based Test) – Minimum total score 620.
CBT (Computer-based Test) – Minimum total score 260. - Application fee of $50.00.

The application deadline for all materials is February 15, 2009 for Fall 2009 admission. The applicant will receive confirmation (via e-mail) once his/her application packet is complete.
