Mickey Cahoon enters his second season as head coach of the Clark University women’s volleyball program. Originally from Bourne, Mass., Cahoon joined the Cougars after a 10-year career at the middle- and high school level.

Prior to Clark, Cahoon spent three seasons as head varsity volleyball coach at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Mass., where he led NDA to a 50-17 overall record and a pair of consecutive trips to the Division II South Sectional Tournament, including a championship appearance in 2006.

He also assisted 10-time State Championship head coach Tom Turco at Barnstable High School. Under Turco’s tutelage, Cahoon helped guide the Red Raiders to the 2003 Division I State Title.

Cahooh, a former three-sport athlete, continues to play in the Open Division of the AVP Next Beach Volleyball Series.

Cahoon also doubles as Clark’s head men’s tennis coach. In between a pair of volleyball tenures, he directed the varsity boy’s tennis team at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (1998-2004) en route to a Cape Cod Times Boy’s Tennis Coach of the Year in 2003. Cahoon has also served as a resident tennis professional at the Weston Racquet Club. A graduate of Bridgewater State College, Cahoon also received his master’s degree in Counseling at Boston University.

A graduate of Bridgewater State College, where he played tennis, Cahoon went on to receive his master’s degree in Counseling at Boston University. He will reside in South Boston with his wife, Jennifer.

Assistant Coach

Terry Malone '01

Clark alum Terry Malone ’01, from Chicopee, Mass., returns for her 8th year with the women’s volleyball team as assistant coach. Malone, now Senior Associate Director in Admissions at Clark, was a former four-year (1998-2001) goalkeeper for the women’s soccer program. Malone earned several honors her senior year, including the Athletic Department Service Award, Scholar-Athlete recognition, and Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Malone earned a B.A. in biology. She is currently working towards her Masters in Science in Professional Communications (MSPC) at Clark. Malone resides in Worcester.

Assistant Coach

Sarah Hunsucker '08

assistant coach sarah hunsuckerHunsucker, a former four-year starter for the Cougars, will move from the court to the bench this fall. Originally from Orinda, Cali., Hunsucker captained the 2007 team en route to a New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic selection. She earned Clark scholar-athlete recognition in 2007 and capped her career as one of three Senior Class Award recipients.

In 2006, the former middle-blocker helped lead Clark to its most wins (12) in a season and highest seed in the NEWMAC Tournament (6th) since 2001. That year, she was named to the Worcester City All-Tournament team.

She graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's in communications.
