COPACE: A global community of adult learners

With campuses in Israel, Poland and the United States, Clark's College of Professional and Continuing Education (COPACE) is educating the next generation of adult learners around the world. Whether embarking on a second career or working toward that first degree, COPACE programs offer the combination of rigorous academics, individual attention and flexibility to help all kinds of learners-in all different stages of life-to flourish in their academic pursuits.

For Kathy McGrath, who decided to get her B.A. in her forties, COPACE was a ticket to the college degree she always wanted. "I chose COPACE when I heard so many good things about it from friends," says McGrath. "I started working toward a B.A. in sociology and then discovered women's studies. I absolutely loved each and every minute of my academic experience and refused to give up one of these areas. So I graduated with a B.A. in both sociology and women's studies." McGrath, who now works as a case manager at Worcester's Eldercare Services, will earn her Masters in Public Administration at COPACE in May 2007 and hopes to go on to earn a Ph.D.

"Our graduates are found at all levels of management and administration, in private, public and nonprofit organizations," says Max Hess, COPACE assistant dean and director of graduate programs. "The visibility of our alumni in leadership roles encourages more students to come to Clark. Gifts to the Clark Fund can help future Clarkies achieve their personal and professional goals."
