First-Year Seminars

Small classes are a hallmark at Clark. As a first-year student you have the opportunity to enroll in a first-year seminar. These seminars are limited to no more than 15 students each, and the professor who teaches your first-year seminar will also serve as your academic advisor. This enables you to start your Clark career by developing a close relationship with both a professor and a small group of students who share at least one of your intellectual interests. In addition, first-year seminar faculty will help you develop core academic skills that you will use throughout your four years at Clark: reading, writing, speaking, thinking, and arguing. For a sampling of seminar titles check out first-year seminars Fall 2008. Information about the first-year seminars for Fall 2008, and how to register for these courses, will be sent to you over the summer.
